So How Can I Help? I work with you to help you uncover the patterns in your relationships and in your life, so you can deepen your awareness of who you are, what is meaningful to you, what makes you come alive. We discover how to make your life more meaningful and move toward where you would like to be in your life and relationships. I am most interested in learning who you are and finding out what you want from therapy, then helping you get that from your experience with me. My goal is to offer a safe space to reflect with you, be a sounding board for you, listen as you as you explore options, clarify your feelings and ideas, and get to know yourself more deeply. · There are several tools available that can be helpful to you, should you decide you would like to use those. They include: * Coping skills and tools are available to reduce stress or anxiety, relieve mood extremes, or cope with physical pain. These tools include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), role play, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, acceptance and commitment therapy tools, mindfulness, interpersonal rhythm therapy, hypnotherapy, guided imagery and relaxation skills. * Motivation can be increased with tools such as motivational interviewing, hypnotherapy, and peak performance eye movement and desensitization (EMDR). * Solution focus and other problem-solving cognitive behavioral tools may be useful to improve your ability to interact with others and shift out of stuck places. * There are numerous family therapy, couple therapy, and CBT/DBT skills which can help improve relationship skills or reduce interpersonal conflicts. * If you have been traumatized, whether you are a war veteran, crime victim, child abuse victim, or feel abandoned, there are many ways to work through your losses and pain. We begin where you are now. The work is gentle and compassionate. The point of trauma therapy is to free you from grip of the trauma triggers so that you may move from being a victim or even a survivor to living life to the fullest. EMDR, hypnotherapy, and other tools can be helpful in working through trauma.
Whatever issue brings you to therapy, there are various options available to you to reach your goals. I trust that you are the best judge of what is comfortable and effective for you. And I always welcome your feedback. I invite you to join with me in creating a safe space in which we discover how to meet your goals. I look forward to your call!
